The partnership with Black Swan Prize for Portraiture, now in its third year, has taken art into our own communities for the first time this year with a touring exhibition of 40 finalist portraits now on display for patients, visitors and our caregivers to enjoy at our hospitals in Subiaco, Murdoch and Midland.

Patients, visitors and caregivers are also able participate in live portrait sessions by visiting local artists at St John of God Midland Public and Subiaco Hospitals.

Michael encouraged caregivers and visitors to the hospitals to immerse themselves in the Black Swan Prize for Portraiture.

“We have had great success inviting visual and performing artists into our hospital settings and have a long-standing commitment to art as therapy in the care of our patients,” he said.

“We also recognise the impact art, particularly that which is inspired and created by local artists, can have on the wellbeing of the wider community.”
