🖤💛❤️️🇦🇺Here, our flags fly proudly together against a backdrop of beautiful blue skies! 💙🌞 Each year National Reconciliation Week (NRW) celebrates and builds on the respectful relationships shared by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and other Australians. 👍🏼👍🏾 The theme for #NRW2017 is ‘let’s take the next steps’. Reconciliation lives in the hearts, minds and actions of our caregivers and reconciliation is part of our SJGHC story. This week, we reflect on two significant anniversaries in Australia’s reconciliation journey - 50 years since the 1967 referendum and 25 years since the historic Mabo decision. #NRW asks all #Australians to take the next big steps in our nation’s reconciliation journey. #sjgmurdoch #loveyourwork

We celebrated the Feast day of St Mary ward in reverence to Mary as the spiritual mother of all people, and in particular to seek Mary’s protection for all people giving and receiving care on the ward. The month of May has long been dedicated to Mary, as the Mother of the Church and the example, guide and inspiration for everyone seeking to serve God. The Australian Catholic community has always remained faithful to Mary and was the first nation to choose her as principle patroness under the title, 'Mary Help of Christians'. #sjgmurdoch #loveyourwork
