The role, South East Sub Acute Chief Executive Officer, will see Mr Schultze lead St John of God Frankston Rehabilitation Hospital and St John of God Pinelodge Clinic, while also leading the redevelopment of St John of God Langmore Centre, on the former site of Berwick Hospital, into a dedicated mental health and rehabilitation hospital.

St John of God Health Care Eastern Hospitals Executive Director Bryan Pyne said the new role would help facilitate growth and development across these hospitals which are all located in close proximity.

“We are really excited to have Steven join St John of God Health Care and bring leadership and governance to our mental health and rehabilitation hospitals in this new role,” he said.

“Steven brings a wealth of experience in the private healthcare sector, including his most recent role as Chief Executive Officer of Queensland Diagnostic Imaging where he was responsible for more than 30 radiology practices.

“His experience in leading multi-site operations will be extremely valuable to enhancing our services and care provided to these communities.”

Mr Schultze, who grew up in the Dandenong region, said he was happy to return to Victoria and lead the three hospitals.

“I am very passionate about healthcare and am excited to join St John of God Health Care in this role which provides a rare opportunity to build on and enhance our rehabilitation and mental health care in this growing region,” he said.

“I am also looking forward to seeing how we can use advancements in technology in our care to improve the lives of our patients now and into the future.”

Mr Schultze started in the new role on Monday 4 June.
