Dr Raj Uchila is a gastroenterologist and hepatologist with extensive training locally and overseas. After his gastroenterology training in Perth, he moved to Sydney for further training at Westmead Hospital and its renowned endoscopy and liver units. He subsequently completed a clinical fellowship in transplant hepatology at the Toronto General Hospital, Canada.
Dr Uchila has a broad range of interests encompassing all aspects of gastroenterology and liver diseases, with a particular interest in the investigations of abnormal liver tests, in the management of fatty liver disease, viral hepatitis, autoimmune liver diseases, end-stage liver disease, colorectal cancer screening, reflux disease and drug-resistant Helicobacter infection.
He has accreditation in colonoscopy and gastroscopy by the Conjoint Committee for the Recognition of Training in Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Physicians (RACP) and a member of the Gastroenterological Society of Australia (GESA). He receives referrals for direct access endoscopy and will not apply a gap for all private endoscopy procedures.
