Dr Amanda Thomas is a gastroenterologist, originally from Perth. She obtained her medical degree from the University of Western Australia in 2009.
She completed basic physician training at Fremantle Hospital in 2014 followed by advanced training in gastroenterology in Sydney at Royal Prince Alfred, Sydney Children’s, Concord General Repatriation and Bankstown Lidcombe hospitals.
She completed a 12 month overseas fellowship in inflammatory bowel disease at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital in the UK.
Amanda has a special interest in inflammatory bowel disease, transition care of young adults with chronic gastrointestinal diseases, functional bowel conditions, coeliac disease, iron deficiency anaemia and bowel cancer screening. She has additional training in intestinal ultrasound and clinical nutrition also.
