Professor Christopher Lind has extensive experience in brain surgery, spinal surgery (including fusions), peripheral nerve, trigeminal neuralgia, brain and spine tumours, deep brain stimulation and cerebrovascular disorders.
After completing medical school in Otago in 1997, Chris began neurosurgical training in Auckland and completed in Perth in 2006. He was appointed full-time consultant in 2007 at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, Royal Perth and subsequently Princess Margaret and Perth Children’s Hospitals and continued work there until 2022. He has spent time in Bristol and Oxford, UK studying functional neurosurgery and was seconded to the University of Western Australia as Professor in 2010 and has remained on faculty since.
Chris is recognised nationally as a neurosurgical academic with over 80 peer-reviewed journal publications. 2013- 2016 he was WA Director of Neurosurgical Training and a member of the neurosurgical training board for the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. In 2014 he was voted a Director of the Neurosurgical Society of Australasia and was President in 2016-18. Chris was awarded the Neurosurgical Society’s highest career research honour, the Eccles Lectureship, in 2022.
In 2016 Chris joined colleagues in their rooms located at St John of God Subiaco Clinic and has worked only in private practice since 2022.
