Dr Dhammika Gunasekara is a consultant nephrologist who treats patients at St John of God Murdoch Hospital.

Dr Gunasekara was a graduate of the University of Ruhuna, Sri Lanka in 1994. He obtained his Doctorate in Medicine in 2002 from University of Colombo, Sri Lanka and became a Fellow of The Ceylon College of Physicians in 2010. He became a fellow of the Royal Australian College of Physicians in 2009 in Nephrology.

Dr Gunasekara has special interests in nephrology, with glomerular and tubular-interstitial disorders, resistant hypertension, diabetic nephropathy and renal tubular disorders. He also has interests in the management of diabetes, hypocholesteremia, thyroid disorders and non-surgical weight management in obese patients.
