Dr D'Orsogna completed undergraduate medical training at the University of Western Australia in 2003, and after a period of working in different medical specialties, developed his interest in rehabilitation medicine around ideas of maximising independence and quality of life.

He completed rehabilitation medicine training between NSW and WA, including time spent on the spinal rehabilitation services at Royal Ryde Rehabilitation Hospital in Sydney and Shenton Park Hospitals in Perth. He has a particular interest in neurological rehabilitation, particularly disorders of the spinal cord - and helping patients achieve their maximum independence in terms of mobility, function, pain management, spasticity management, continence and any other impairment that may be encountered. 

Dr D'Orsogna has worked as a consultant rehabilitation physician on the State Spinal Injury Unit at Fiona Stanley Hospital since its opening in 2014, and prior to that for one year at Shenton Park Hospital. He has experience and also enjoys working with patients requiring orthopaedic, musculoskeletal and amputee rehabilitation.  

Dr D'Orsogna was the convenor of the Australian and New Zealand Spinal Cord Society Conference in 2015, and a committee member of the AFRM Policy and Advocacy Committee from 2013 to 2017, and is involved in regular teaching and educational activities.
