Dr Justin Chin is a consultant gastroenterologist and hepatologist, and is a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. He graduated from the University of Western Australia and completed his postgraduate basic physician and gastroenterology speciality training at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, Royal Perth Hospital and Fiona Stanley Hospital. He went on to complete clinical fellowships at Fiona Stanley Hospital and Kings College Hospital, London, with a focus on liver transplantation, advanced liver disease and management of hepatocellular carcinoma. He has a keen interest in research and continues to be actively involved in clinical research, with several peer-reviewed publications in the field of hepatology.
Dr Chin has consultant appointments at Royal Perth Hospital, Bentley Hospital and St John of God Subiaco Hospital. He also consults at Perth Gastroenterology and Liver Care, Wembley.
His areas of expertise include:
Hepatology including viral hepatitis, autoimmune liver disease, liver cancer, fatty liver disease and advanced chronic liver disease.
Gastroscopy and colonoscopy including bowel cancer screening with accreditation from the Conjoint Committee for Recognition of Training in Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.
General gastroenterology including management of gastroesophageal reflux disease, coeliac disease and inflammatory bowel disease.
