Associate Professor Koya Ayonrinde is a Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist working exclusively in the southern suburbs of Perth.
His main consulting rooms are in Palmyra and Parkwood. He has private practice rights for admission of in-patients and performs endoscopic procedures (Gastroscopy and Colonoscopy) at St John of God Murdoch Hospital. Dr Ayonrinde is also a consultant Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist and Endoscopist at Fiona Stanley Hospital.
His main clinical interests are general gastroenterology and hepatology, including endoscopy (gastroscopy), colonoscopy, colorectal cancer and polyp screening, peptic ulcer disease and upper gastrointestinal bleeding, coeliac disease, nonalcoholic and alcohol-related fatty liver disease, other chronic liver diseases, cirrhosis, autoimmune and viral hepatitis.
He holds adjunct positions at UWA and Curtin University.
His research interests include nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, colorectal cancer and polyp screening, clinical audit, liver fibrosis, upper gastrointestinal ulcers and bleeding.
Memberships: Gastroenterology Society of Australia (GESA), Fellow of American Association for the Study of Liver Disease (FAASLD), Fellow of American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (FASGE), and Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.
He provides comprehensive liver assessment including liver Fibroscan assessment of liver fibrosis and liver fat quantification that is performed during consultations.
