Dr Adam Lye Wye Tho is an experienced consultant neonatologist based at St John of God Subiaco Hospital in Western Australia.
He first graduated from the University of Manchester in 2003 and subsequently obtained his Membership to the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, UK in August 2020. He then received his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in paediatrics and child health with a focus on neonatal and perinatal medicine in May 2024.
He is highly skilled in neonatal and perinatal medicine, with a particular focus on the stabilisation and transport of critically ill neonates. Dr Tho has over 500 neonatal retrievals under his belt, showcasing his expertise in managing complex cases across remote locations in Western Australia. His dedication to high quality care is further demonstrated through his leadership roles and involvement in teaching, both formally and informally, across a wide range of medical staff.
His career spans a variety of senior roles, including senior registrar positions in neonatology at King Edward Memorial Hospital, Princess Margaret Hospital and Perth Children's Hospital. Additionally, he was a Transport Fellow with NETSWA-PCH, where he played a pivotal role in coordinating the transport and care of critically ill neonates across Western Australia. He has extensive experience managing premature neonates, particularly in the areas of acute care and long term follow-up for survivors with disabilities.
Dr Tho’s clinical expertise includes advanced neonatal ventilation techniques, neonatal intubation, neonatal exchange transfusions, cranial ultrasounds and the management of complex neonatal conditions. He is also an experienced educator and mentor, regularly facilitating training sessions and actively participating in the development of clinical guidelines.
