My first task was to read about St John of God Health Care to learn more about the history and services.
I was touched by the Vision, Mission and Values. Especially that the hospital offers hospitality, hope and healing to all under their care and to all who choose to work with them or receive service from them.
When l applied for a midwifery job, l was so impressed by the efficiency in communication and my manager’s professional, positive, respectful, and friendly manner.
Upon joining St John of God Midland Public and Private Hospitals, l was very keen to continue providing advice, care and support for women and their babies during pregnancy, labour and the early postnatal period.
As such, l asked my manager if I could work in birth suite and it was amazing working with very supportive midwives.
However, after few weeks of starting work, l was too sick and unable to work for
a year.
I am so pleased to say that nearly every St John of God Health Care caregiver supported me in different ways throughout my illness.
It showed me that the hospital offers hospitality, hope and healing to all who choose to work with them, not just those in our care.
We are like a family with an understanding and caring attitude.
