After completing her nursing studies (with also included midwifery) nine years ago in India, Anu started her nursing career in Mangalore, India in the Emergency Department at a 1,050-bed hospital.
Anu moved to Singapore where she worked in the surgical intensive care unit (ICU), starting out as an enrolled nurse, before becoming a Registered Nurse.
Anu then moved to a brand new paperless hospital in Jurong, Singapore, as an ICU nurse.
"Everything is done through computers," says Anu, "you could hardly find a pen on any ward."
In 2016 Anu moved to Australia and completed the initial registration for overseas nurses program in Melbourne. Soon after Anu was successful in her application as an RN on the Acute Gerontology Rehab Ward at St John of God Bendigo Hospital.
"Nursing is a wonderful career to choose," Anu said.
"Everyday I get to help people and connect with them. It has enables me to travel, and now I’m excited to be living and working in Bendigo with a friendly team. My daughter and husband are moving here next week, I'm looking forward to my daughter starting school here in term 3."
