While the name has changed, residents of Armadale, Midland, Gosnells and Mirrabooka and surrounding areas will continue to benefit from free mental health care at Medicare Mental Health Centres.

The centres are operated by St John of God Social Outreach, part of St John of God Health Care, and are funded by the Australian Government under the PHN Program.

They provide a safe and welcoming space where locals can walk-in to access free and confidential mental health information and support without needing a referral, Medicare card or appointment.

Staffed by qualified mental health professionals and people with lived experience, the centres provides immediate support to adults in distress, including their families and carers.

They can also connect people with other support services, such as employment assistance, to support them in the future.

“We are proud to have become an integral part of the Perth community since we began operation at our first site in Midland three years ago,” said service manager Ruth Lawrence.

“We now have a further three Perth metro locations at Mirrabooka, Armadale and Gosnells, and see our new name as the next step in our evolution of providing quality mental health services for adults in the community at no cost.”
