Introducing the new St John of God Midland Public Hospital CEO

Michael was appointed to the position in September after initially joining the hospital as Deputy Chief Executive Officer in October 2016.

Michael said he was excited to continue growing the hospital in his new role, including enhancing and growing services and expanding research.

“Having worked at the hospital for 11 months I am impressed by the commitment of caregivers to delivering high quality health services to the community,” he said.

“I am excited about so many aspects of the hospital’s future and committed to growing existing services, establishing a strong research focus through collaboration with local healthcare providers and universities and developing our new executive and leadership teams.”

Michael has a long history with St John of God Health Care first starting as CEO of the Group’s Bendigo hospital in 2005 and then leading St John of God Pathology until 2016, when it was sold to Australian Clinical Labs.

Michael said he and his wife had relocated to Perth to join the Midland team and were enjoying the active lifestyle they were able to lead in Western Australia.

“Unwinding after a busy week is all about exercise for me. I am happiest riding, running and exercising, and it is so easy to get outside in Perth.”
