Mr Wijesurija is a general surgeon with Hepatobiliary surgery as subspecialty interest.

Mr Wijesurija obtained his primary medical degree from University of Colombo, Sri Lanka and had his basic surgical training in Sri Lanka. Mr Wijesurija then completed sub-specialty training in HBP and transplant at the Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital in Perth.

After completion of training, Mr Wijesuriya returned to Sri Lanka to establish a liver transplant program in Sri Lanka. Having achieved his goal, he returned to Perth in 2011.

Mr Wijesuriya has been working since 2011 as a general surgeon initially at Swan District Hospital and now at St John of God Midland Public and Private Hospitals.

Mr Wijesuriya accepts referrals in all aspect of general surgery.
