Dr Nicolas Newman studied medicine at UWA and graduated in 1984. He undertook his advanced training in a general surgery at Royal Perth Hospital, Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital and Fremantle Hospital and attained his fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 1995.

In 1996, Dr Newman undertook a Rural Surgical Fellowship at Royal Darwin Hospital and commenced practice in Bunbury in 1997. He has experience in a very broad range of general surgery. He is particularly interested in hand surgery and gastrointestinal endoscopy (upper GI endoscopy and colonoscopy). His endoscopy and colonoscopy training is recognised by the CCRTGE.

Dr Newman treats patients at St John of God Bunbury Hospital, he has practiced in Bunbury and the Southwest of W.A. for 20 years and continues to provide a high level of surgical care for his patients.
