Dr Dinesh Epitawela is a skilled specialist Obstetrician and Gynaecologist who has over 20 years of experience both in Australia and overseas.

He offers a range of gynaecological and obstetrics care to his patients of all ages from adolescence to post menopause at St John of God Health Care.

His compassionate and caring nature is highly regarded by his patients and his firm belief that each patient is different enables him to successfully cater for a culturally and linguistically diverse community.

Apart from his clinical duties, Dinesh is also involved in mentoring and supervising specialists in training, clinical teaching medical undergraduates of Monash University and also has acted as an examiner of undergraduate examinations.

He is an active member of Monash Guideline Development Group as well as Maternity General Practitioners and Shared Care Committee. Dinesh was also one of the Obstetrics leads in Safer Baby Collaborative-Safer Care Victoria.

Prior to his employment at Monash Health, Dinesh has worked for 10 years at the Royal Women’s Hospital in Melbourne where he has also served as Director of Women’s Emergency Services.

He has also been awarded The Young Gynaecologist Award by the Asia Oceania Federation of Obstetrics and Gynaecology for his research work.
