Farewell Prof Cameron Platell

St John of God Subiaco Hospital colorectal surgeon Prof Cameron Platell has announced his retirement from clinical practice.

Prof Platell commenced working at St John of God Subiaco Hospital in 2003. Over the years, he has become a respected member of the organisation’s community and renowned for his clinical excellence and care.

He is also held in high esteem nationally and internationally for his research into the molecular biology of colorectal cancer and for the comprehensive colorectal cancer database that he established and meticulously maintained at St John of God Subiaco Hospital.

His leadership has seen St John of God Subiaco Hospital’s research footprint grow and flourish over the last 17 years.

St John of God Subiaco Hospital sincerely thanks Prof Platell for his outstanding contribution to the hospital and to the advancement of cancer services.

Colorectal surgeons, Dr Jennifer Ryan and Dr Stephanie Chetrit, whose surgical practices at St John of God Subiaco Hospital have grown rapidly, will be attending to the additional referrals while Mr Michael Levitt continues in active clinical practice with an emphasis on proctology and functional bowel disease.

Gastroenterologists and inflammatory bowel disease experts, Prof Ian Lawrance and Dr Siva Pulusu, retain their clinical practices and are available for consultation or open access endoscopy.
