Professor Shirley Bowen - Chief Executive Officer Prof Shirley Bowen, CEO St John of God Subiaco Hospital

Professor Shirley Bowen is the Chief Executive Officer of St John of God Subiaco Hospital having been appointed in June 2017. Prior to joining the hospital she was Dean, School of Medicine, Fremantle at the University of Notre Dame.

Prof Bowen has more than 20 years' experience in executive management of Hospitals and Public Health and has also maintained her practice as an Infectious Diseases Physician (FRACP). She also holds a Fellowship in Sexual Health Medicine and a Master of Medicine.

She is passionate about delivering patient centric care and is committed to visible and authentic leadership.

Colin Young - Director of FinanceColin Young

Colin Young is responsible for all aspects of financial governance for the hospital and was appointed in June 2016. Prior roles include Director of Finance and Operations at St John of God Murdoch Hospital and Business Manager at the Mount Hospital.

Colin has extensive senior management experience in the delivery of finance services in health care organisations Australia wide. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Economics and Finance, a Masters of Accounting and is a Certified Practising Accountant.

Steve Cohen-Jones

Steve Cohen-Jones - Director of Business & Service Development

Steve Cohen-Jones was appointed to the newly created position of Director Business & Service Development in November 2017 and has responsibility for leading the hospital’s growth and marketing activities.

Steve has extensive leadership experience in business development and marketing, predominantly within the health sector, and has developed new brands, products, services and businesses to meet the evolving healthcare needs of the community. His qualifications include a Bachelor of Commerce, with double major in Marketing and Management and he is a Graduate of the Institute of Company Directors.

Steve is passionate about the advancement of better healthcare experiences for both patients and providers.

Eva Denholm

Dr Eva Denholm - Director Medical Services

Eva Denholm was appointed as the Director of Medical Services in September 2017 and is responsible for medical governance, junior medical staff, pharmacy, clinical trials and research.

She has previously worked as Director of Clinical Services at Fremantle Hospital and as the Medical Co-Director at Osborne Park Hospital. Eva holds a Fellowship in General Surgery and also an MBA.

Jennifer Healey - Director of Mission IntegrationJennifer Healy

Jennifer Healey was appointed in October 2017 and is responsible for supporting the Chief Executive Officer and executive team in providing leadership that seeks to strengthen and facilitate the Mission of St John of God Health Care.

Jennifer has a breadth of experience in leadership with prior roles including Principal of Loreto Nedlands and Director of the Office of University Relations at The University of Notre Dame Australia. Her professional qualifications include a Master of Religious Education, Bachelor of Education and Diploma of Teaching.

Jenny Brenton - Director Nursing, Clinical Operations and ExcellenceJenny Brenton

Jenny Brenton was appointed in January 2018 and is responsible for leading the hospital’s nursing and midwifery services on clinical matters and the provision of exceptional patient-centred care.

Jenny brings a wealth of skills in clinical nursing, change management and leadership to the role, having previously worked as Director of Nursing at Armadale Hospital and in various senior positions at Fiona Stanley Hospital, Fremantle Hospital, the State Acute Demand Unit and St John of God Murdoch Hospital. Jenny holds a postgraduate Diploma in Coaching, Mentoring and Interpersonal Facilitation.

Andy Wheble - Director Corporate ServicesAndy Wheble

Andy Wheble was appointed Director Corporate Services in August 2017. Prior roles include General Manager Operations South for Activ Foundation, FM Operations Director at Fiona Stanley Hospital and senior operational and project roles in the United Kingdom.

Andy has extensive experience in operational delivery, project, program and transformational management in both the public and private sectors, and diploma level qualifications in health and safety management and project management.

Jane Tuckey - Deputy - Director of Nursing, Procedural ServicesJane Tuckey

Jane Tuckey has 18 years’ experience working in Procedural management and leadership at St John of God Subiaco Hospital with a Graduate Certificate in Business Administration.

As Deputy Director of Nursing Procedural Services, Jane oversees a number of Procedural departments to ensure the highest quality of service and patient care. These include; 17 Main Theatres and a Birth Suite Theatre within the Labour Ward; Cardiac and Vascular Angiography Unit; Endoscopy Unit; Short Stay Unit; Minor Procedure Unit; Day Surgery Unit (DSU) and Day of Surgery Unit (DOSA); Wembley Day Surgery and Central Sterile Services Department.

Annie Thompson - Deputy Director Nursing, South BlockAnnie Thompson

Annie Thompson was appointed in September 2018 and is responsible for women and newborn services, critical care services including ICU & CCU and Cardiothoracic as well as pediatrics and general surgery wards.Previously Annie has held nursing leadership roles within South Metropolitan Health Services and Perth Children’s Hospital including Director Projects Operational Readiness (PCH), Corporate Nursing Director, Nursing Co-Director Medical and Aged Care Services and she was the Commissioning Lead that oversaw the transition of tertiary services from Fremantle Hospital & Health Service to commission Fiona Stanley Hospital.

Annie has over 25 years’ experience of nursing across many acute specialties with over 10 years in leadership and transformation roles.

David Lyle

David Lyle - Deputy Director Nursing, North Block and Cancer Centre

David Lyle was appointed in February 2015 and is responsible for inpatient medical and surgical wards, inpatient oncology/haematology, palliative care and day chemotherapy. He was previously Manager of Surgical Services at the Golden Jubilee National Hospital in Glasgow, Scotland and General Manager Governance, Risk and Quality with the Bethanie Group in WA. David has over 25 years’ experience in acute nursing, aged and community services, governance and management.

He holds Bachelor Degrees in Nursing and Health Science, a Masters in Health Informatics and post graduate diplomas in critical care, cancer nursing and infection control.
