He was nominated by Nurse Manager of the Restorative Unit, Anna Vuko and Staff Development Nurse, Kirsty Gifford in both Hospitality and Excellence categories, in recognition of the work he carries out around the hospital.

As a member of the engineering team, Ricky is quick to respond to all plumbing requests, even when under pressure.

Anna says Ricky’s positive approach and cheerful attitude make him a valuable member of the St John of God Mt Lawley Hospital team.

“Nothing is ever too much trouble for Rick and I wanted to let him know how much we appreciate his work,” says Anna.

“Even under pressure, Ricky delivers and does all he can to accommodate our requests in a timely manner.”

Kirsty agrees, saying Ricky embodies the values of Excellence and Hospitality.

“Ricky shows great pride in his work and I always know he will respond promptly to any jobs that we have.

“This makes it easier for us to do our job. While we deliver patient care, Ricky is behind the scenes making sure we are able to do this.”

The Caregiver Living Values Award recognises caregivers throughout the hospital who go above and beyond their day to day roles.  The categories reflect our values of excellence, hospitality, justice, respect and compassion.
