If you are interested in being part of our hospital community, you can volunteer your time at St John of God Mt Lawley Hospital.

Our volunteer opportunities are as varied as the people who offer their time and expertise to help improve our patient experience.

 

Some of our volunteer roles include:

  • administrative and admissions support
  • welcoming and escorting patients/visitors
  • kiosk and library book services
  • companionship for patients
  • providing Eucharistic minister volunteer services.

To be considered for a volunteer role, applicants must:

  • Have the time to commit to a volunteering role with ongoing reliable attendance for 12 months and beyond.
  • Be over the age of 18 years.
  • Interview with the Volunteer Coordinator.
  • Be prepared to undergo certain personal checks (such as referee, National Volunteer Police Clearance and Working with Children).
  • Complete an immunisation screening.
  • Complete annual online volunteer training.

As a volunteer, you will receive:

  • free onsite parking
  • a coffee and a meal from the café
  • a St John of God Mt Lawley Hospital volunteering uniform
  • training and an induction around the hospital
  • the opportunity to help others.
