Cancer care at Murdoch 

At St John of God Murdoch Hospital our oncology service supports your physical, emotional and psychological wellbeing, including your surgical and medical needs. 

Our dedicated cancer ward, Thomas Furlong, day Cancer Centre and GenesisCare radiation oncology facility bring together clinicians from a wide range of areas for cancer treatment, including oncology, haematology and palliative care on site.

We pride ourselves on providing a high standard of professional and multidisciplinary care with compassion and expertise.

Our services include:

  • specialist nurses in breast care, palliative care and oncology.
Our Thomas Furlong ward is located on the ground floor of the hospital and caters for inpatients undergoing oncology treatment. 

Our caring and experienced team will manage all facets of your stay, working closely with your specialists and oncology team. 
Our ward also hosts a team of specialist care professionals, including prostate, breast care, bowel, stomal therapy and wound management. 

Nurse Manager Tanya O'Connor is able to assist with any queries regarding patient experience and clinical care.

Room service is available for all inpatients. 

We offer day chemotherapy services in a tranquil environment. Features such as comfortable seating, tea and coffee making facilities, and reading materials will help you feel more at home.

Murdoch is home to the first private, integrated, hospital-based radiation oncology facility in the Perth southern metropolitan area. The GenesisCare facility offers comprehensive and coordinated cancer care including diagnostics, treatment, nuclear medicine and theranostics services, tailored to each individual’s needs. 

The integrated facility ensures you are supported at all stages of your journey, managed by a multidisciplinary team of cancer-specific experts.
