The Community Wellbeing Grants will be provided to a peer ambassadorship program for Aboriginal youth, a dance exercise program for people with a disability and a wellness essentials program for youth at risk of homelessness, amongst other programs.

St John of God Midland Private Hospital Chief Executive Officer Michael Hogan said the grants are designed to provide additional support to local groups who are serving a need in the community.

“As an organisation, we place great focus on supporting the communities we serve,” he said.

“This year, as everyone continues to deal with the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, it was especially important to us to run the grants program to provide extra support to local groups as well as directly assist with improving the health and wellbeing of the community.

“We received more applications for this year’s Community Wellbeing Grants program than we have in the past and all were of a very high standard.

“Whilst it made for a very competitive assessment process, it was encouraging to see so many great projects being undertaken by local organisations who are seeking to make a difference in our community.

“I thank everyone who took the time to submit an application. The judges did have a difficult time selecting from such a great range of projects.”
