Working with us

Volunteering at St John of God Bendigo Hospital

Volunteers play a vital role in supporting our health services and are valued members of our caregiver team.

Why volunteer?

Volunteering at our hospital enables you to make a difference to the lives of our patients and community, as well as your own.

St John of God Bendigo Hospital provides our volunteers with opportunities for training, learning, skill development and socialising.

We want to make your volunteering experience as rewarding as possible and will aim to match your personal skills and interests to the most suitable roles within our hospital.

Volunteer roles

There are around 180 volunteers in our hospital, working in over 30 different clinical and non-clinical areas.

Our volunteers hold roles in areas including:

  • ward support
  • administration
  • reception
  • coffee shop
  • community meals
  • driver programs
  • auxillary raffles.

We interview all of our volunteers and provide them with training in the requirements of their role. All of our volunteers display high standards of professionalism and courtesy in representing our hospital and help us to provide exceptional care to our patients and visitors.
