Imaging
Medical imaging, or radiology, covers a variety of diagnostic techniques including X-rays, computed tomography (CT), ultrasound, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and nuclear medicine.
Medical imaging creates a visual representation of specific parts of your body, such as bones, organs or tissues.
You may be sent to the radiology department by your general practitioner (GP) or specialist as an outpatient or inpatient.
The specialist radiologist, a qualified doctor, views the images and provides a report to your doctor to aid in diagnosis and treatment.
The radiologist may also be asked to administer pain relieving injections or perform biopsies under image guidance.
We work with select external imaging providers to offer these specialist services to our patients.
