Both Pauline and Louise have worked on 1 west for several years in their cleaning roles and have shown great commitment and dedication to our patients. More recently, they have taken the initiative to celebrate the various cancer awareness days throughout the year.

Nurse Unit Manager Liz McEncroe said that this morning I arrived to find a wonderful display of yellow balloons and scores of intricate, handmade paper daffodils to acknowledge and celebrate Daffodil Day.

“My team told me that both Pauline and Louise came in after hours last night and spent time setting up the posters, balloons and vases of flowers, and they have done a similar display in Anam Cara,” Liz said

Louise and Pauline have over 50 years combined service working on the oncology ward and said they just want to give back a little to the oncology ward – it’s a special place.

“It makes us feel good in side to help raise awareness about cancer,” Louise and Pauline said.

Well done Louise and Pauline – a great example of caregiver engagement and commitment.
