Paediatric surgery
Our paediatric surgeons are dedicated to providing the highest quality care for the most important person in your life, your child.
We support you and your child from admission through to recovery and explain what is happening in simple language to help reduce any fears or concerns.
Whether your child is 28 days old or 18 years old, we provide the highest level of care.
Our paediatric services
We provide specialised paediatric care covering general medical and surgical care for treatments including:
- dental
- ear, nose and throat (ENT)
- general surgery
- orthopaedics
- ophthalmology
- plastic surgery
- urology.
Outpatient medical and allied health care is also available.
If you want to discuss your child’s health or treatment with their doctor or physician at any stage, please let our caregivers know and they can arrange this for you.
Your child’s stay
From the moment you arrive, your child will receive individual care and attention. We want to make your child’s stay as comfortable as possible and provide televisions and child appropriate activities.
For you and your child’s comfort we endeavour to place you in single rooms.
Your family
It’s not just your child who’s going through a stressful time – surgery can impact on the whole family. If your child is staying overnight, we encourage a parent or guardian to stay with them.
Benefits
The benefits of our paediatric surgery services include:
- care by paediatric competent caregivers
- a comfortable environment that encourages children to interact with caregivers, their family and other children
- caregivers who focus on the family, as well as the patient.
