St John of God Midland Public Hospital Chief Executive Officer Michael Hogan said as part of our commitment to partner with patients, carers and the community in regards to mental health care, we are forming a CCAG.

“The CCAG will provide a voice for mental health consumers and carers and provide feedback into the planning, design, delivery, monitoring and evaluation of our mental health services,” he said.

“We are seeking consumers and carers who are passionate about mental health care to join the CCAG.

“They need to have experienced mental illness firsthand, either as an individual or as a carer, and be recovery orientated and focussed on enhancing the needs of consumers and carers.

“We believe people with mental health problems and mental illness, their families and carers should be engaged as genuine partners in advising and leading mental health developments at the individual, community and service system levels.

“This approach also helps our Mental Health Services team to enhance its services and ensure they best meet the needs of consumers and carers.”
