Getting here and parking
Parking
The hospital has two carparks. One is accessible via Yelverton Drive and is the best carpark for the main entrance. The other is located near our Emergency Department and is accessible via Clayton Street.
Parking costs $1.80 per hour or $14 per day (maximum). This cost is set in accordance with the Department of Health’s Metropolitan Access and Parking Strategy.
Bicycle and motorbike parking is also available.
Disability parking is available in the main visitor parking area close to the main entrance.
Visitor parking: licence plate recognition system
Our visitor carparks utilise a Licence Plate Recognition System.
This system relies upon licence plate recognition to gain access into the carparks with visitors being asked to enter their registration details into the payment kiosks prior to exiting.
Entry into visitor carparks
- Approach the entry: Drive toward the car park entry boom gate.
- Wait for automatic access: The Licence Plate Recognition System will scan your licence plate, and if it's recognised the barrier will automatically open.
- If a misread occurs: If the system has trouble reading your plate, please press button for a traditional ticket at the entry.
- If you encounter a problem: If you experience issues, you can press the intercom button to speak to security.
Payment
- Payment machine: Enter your licence plate number or insert the ticket, then select the picture of your vehicle and pay with card, or possibly pay with cash depending on the machine.
- Alternatively: You can pay with card at the exit boom gates by tapping your card (no cash facility at this point).
- If you encounter a problem: If you experience issues, you can press the bell icon at the top left of the screen to speak directly to security.
Exiting the carpark
- Approach the exit: Drive toward the car park exit boom gate. If you have already paid, then either the barrier will automatically open or if you have a ticket insert your ticket for the barrier to open.
- If you have not already paid via the pay machines, you can pay at the exit machine via your Credit or EFTPOS card and wait for the barrier to open.
- If you encounter a problem: If you experience issues, you can press intercom button to speak to security.
