Steven Rajcany - Chief Executive Officer

Steven is the Chief Executive Officer of St John of God Burwood and Richmond Hospitals, having started in the role in February 2024. Steven has over 16 years’ experience as a private hospital CEO, leading both small and large acute surgical, medical, rehabilitation and mental health hospitals, in regional and metropolitan locations. 

Steven has a nursing background, holds a Master of Health Management, and is a Graduate of the Australia Institute of Company Directors.  He holds a number of non-executive director positions in community aged care and early childhood not-for-profit organisations. 

Cindy Foot - Director of Nursing

Cindy has been the Director of Nursing since 2014, following roles as the hospital’s Deputy Director of Nursing and as a nurse unit manager. Cindy has strong involvement in the improvement of our services including revision of nursing care practice and the introduction of the transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) service.

Cindy completed a Bachelor of Applied Science (Nursing) in 1993 and has worked in nursing for over 20 years in Australia and the United Kingdom in mental health and acute care hospitals. 

John Sweeting - A/Director of Mission Integration

Appointed January 2024

John is based at Hawkesbury District Health Service, and has recently joined the NSW Mental Health Services team as Acting DMI two days per week. He has held a number of senior management roles with the Catholic Church for the past 22 years including roles in Dioceses, Catholic Schools, Universities, Catholic Welfare and with World Youth Day Sydney 2008.

John holds a Bachelor of Theology and has experience in church administration, together with pastoral and finance roles.

David Burns - Director of Finance and Corporate Services Burwood and Richmond 

David has a wealth of experience having worked in a variety of finance roles for the past 20 years in Australia and England. His experience includes working at banks, insurance companies and various superannuation and investment management companies.

He is now responsible for all aspects of the operational finances and corporate services of the hospital as the Director of Finance and Corporate Services for the past six years. He holds the same role at St John of God Richmond Hospital.
