Psychiatry consultations
A referral from a general practitioner is needed to see a private psychiatrist.
Demand for psychiatry consultation exceeds our psychiatrist availability. Please submit a registration form for your referral to be reviewed by a psychiatrist. Our caregivers will let you know within four weeks if we can provide a psychiatrist consultation for you.
Please carefully read below to learn more about whether our psychiatry consultations are right for you.
Costs
- We are a private provider of mental health services and bulk billed appointments are unavailable.
- Psychiatrist fees for consultation will be up to $800 per appointment. Medicare rebates may apply. Out of pocket fee may be up to $550 after Medicare rebate.
- Standard consultation fees will apply, to be paid on the day of appointment, if there is no prior approval for WorkCover and TAC claims.
- If your psychiatrist recommends you enrol in one of our treatment programs, the costs of these programs are covered by most private health insurers. Any excess and/or co-payment depends on your level of cover.
We accept referrals for psychiatry consultations for people aged 18 and above. Appointments for adolescents and children are unavailable.
We accept WorkCover referrals however the confirmation of WorkCover approval for psychiatric treatment must be attached to the GP referral.
The following are unavailable:
- Assessments and reports for
- NDIS
- disability support pension
- citizenship applications
- VicRoads
- medico-legal purposes.
- Licence assessment ie. firearms and motor vehicle.
- Appointments for court reports relating to Department of Health (DH), criminal or civil matters.
- Appointments mandated by community correction orders, bail conditions or DH.
- We are unable to provide an emergency response or service.
What to expect?
Our psychiatrists will keep you informed about your rights regarding confidentiality, speak with you about your wellbeing, and work with you to develop a plan towards recovery. This plan can involve therapy and/or medication.
Single or ongoing appointments with your private psychiatrist are available, depending on what your GP has referred you for.
Once you have obtained a GP referral please email it to [email protected]. It's also necessary that you fill in the form below so that your referral may be reviewed by a psychiatrist.

In an emergency
