International Day of the Midwife is a significant opportunity for our organisation to celebrate our midwives for all they do each and every day to care for mothers, babies, families and each other.

This year's theme is Sustainable Midwifery: Caring for Tomorrow's World. This shines a light on the role midwives play in providing sustainable care by designing resilient health systems capable of withstanding the worst impacts of climate change, delivering environmentally responsible health services, and empowering women to make decisions that affect their health and wellbeing, and their families.

We have a long history of providing maternity services in our communities and many continue to seek out our hospitals when they are planning to welcome babies into the world because of the care and support of our midwives.

We are incredibly proud of our maternity teams and today we take the time to thank all our midwives for their ongoing commitment and dedication to the high quality, compassionate midwifery care that they provide to women and their families.

Please join us in celebrating our midwives.
