Community and social outreach

We have a long history working with and helping people within the community and are committed to providing care and relief for people experiencing disadvantage.

Through a variety of initiatives, including St John of God Health Care’s Social Outreach, we contribute towards just and inclusive communities where the dignity of each person is respected and supported.

At St John of God Geraldton Hospital, our local social outreach initiatives include:

Bendat House Geraldton

Bendat House Geraldton, a St John of God Horizon House, provides accommodation and support to young people aged 16 to 22 years who are currently experiencing or are at serious risk of homelessness.

Snuggles, Geraldton Mothers Group

Our midwives work in collaboration with Centacare Geraldton to facilitate the Snuggles for Mums and Bubs group - a support group for new mothers. The group meets weekly during school terms and covers a wide range of mothercraft skills.
