Nursing and midwifery research at Murdoch

St John of God Murdoch Hospital’s Centre for Nursing and Midwifery Research is committed to being a centre of excellence in clinical research within Catholic healthcare and tertiary sectors.

We promote innovative nursing practice through clinical research and work closely with medical and allied health staff. The centre is a collaborative partnership with The University of Notre Dame Fremantle.
  • It enables us to improve patient care and health outcomes, working in close partnership with our hospital’s clinicians.
  • It strengthens the expanding research culture within our hospital and the research expertise among our nurses and midwives.
  • Delivering high quality funded research that is clinically driven and recognised nationally and internationally.
  • Our research spans palliative care, cancer care, orthopaedics and midwifery, as well as robust quality initiatives to guide our research questions.
  • Engaging with stakeholders and collaborators across healthcare and academic organisations.
  • Expanding the scope and quality of nursing, midwifery and interdisciplinary research within St John of God Murdoch Hospital.
