We provide support and information for parents affected by anxiety or depression during pregnancy and in the following two years.
We assist families in their transition to parenthood.
We acknowledge that for one in every seven women (and their families) this journey may include negative moods, exhaustion, loss of confidence and depression.
Our specialised caregivers provide information and strategies to assist women in finding treatment options to best support them and their families.
This community-based mental health service is available to all Geelong families and provides family-centred support that aims to:
- enhance the social and emotional well-being of families
- support parents in their relationships with each other and their families
- increase parenting satisfaction and coping skills.
Our services are available to all members of the community, you don’t need to have been a St John of God Health Care maternity patient or have private health insurance to access our services.
We provide the following services to people and families in the community. Please note, we do not provide crisis support.
- Individual assessment and counseling
- Telephone support and information
- Therapy and play groups
