Murdoch Community Mental Health

Murdoch Community Mental Health (MCMH) provides a range of mental health and wellbeing services to meet the needs of people living in Perth’s southern suburbs.

MCMH is provided by St John of God Murdoch Hospital and reflects our commitment to helping the community we serve.

The mental, physical, social and emotional wellbeing of the community is paramount to all we do and our services are led by the needs of individuals and families we work with.

Our core service is the Ferns Counselling Centre in Fremantle which offers professional, reliable, evidence based help for people with mental illness.

Our mental health clinicians come from a range of backgrounds and experiences including clinical psychology and social work and are professionally registered.

Some of our services are provided in partnership with other providers and we also support a range of community outreach services.

Our care focuses on:

  • supporting your right to self-determination
  • recognising and respecting your physical  emotional, social, cultural and spiritual individuality
  • working in partnership with general practitioners (GPs) and other human service agencies
  • encouraging family involvement and access to information
  • fostering the use of psychological distress as a developmental process, so that it does not hinder or impair further development.
