Parking

Patient and visitor car parking is available off Botanic Road and Wentworth Street for the following services.

Botanic Road

• Main hospital
• The Glenrye Centre
• Pathology
• Radiology
• Consulting Suites 6 -13

Wentworth Street

• Health Services Centre
• Consulting Suites 1 - 5 

Please note: 

• Short term parking is also available at the front of the hospital for dropping-off or collecting patients.
• Disability parking spaces are sign-posted and available in our Botanic Road and Wentworth Street car parks.
• Courtesy umbrellas are available during wet weather - please see our hospital reception. 

Public transport

Transit South West is the bus service operating in Warrnambool. The Route 3 bus stops at Ardlie Street and Canterbury Road. Timetable information is available from Transit South West website.

If you require a taxi, our caregivers at reception can order one for you.

Patient transfer from another health facility

It is your right to choose at which hospital you would like to be treated and for hospital personnel to respect your wishes.

If you are either privately insured or a Veteran Affairs (DVA), TAC or Workcover patient, and your doctor wants you to be admitted to hospital, you may, if it is considered clinically appropriate, request a transfer to St John of God Warrnambool Hospital. Your request should be directed through the Emergency Department / Outpatients doctor, nurse or clerical officer, who will inform the specialist on duty so they can authorise a transfer.

The transfer request can also be directed through your accompanying relative or guardian. The doctor, nurse or clerical officer on duty will arrange the transfer.

You will speak with the Senior Nurse on duty who will immediately address your questions or concerns. 

You may request to be transferred to St John of God Warrnambool Hospital as an uninsured patient. We advise you to call St John of God Warrnambool Hospital prior to your transfer and ask for uninsured prices and other important details.
