Murdoch 2019 Caregiver of the Year announced

St Emilie’s ward PCA Sharon Britza has been announced as the Murdoch 2019 Caregiver of the Year in a special ceremony.

Sharon won Caregiver of the Month in May 2019 for her outstanding commitment to patients and support to colleagues. She was nominated by her entire team for the monthly award.

Sharon was then selected by a panel for the annual award, and she was among a very worthy field of our monthly winners throughout the year. The award was announced at a special ceremony at the Hospital.

St John of God Murdoch Hospital CEO Ben Edwards said Sharon had been working in our Hospital for nearly 20 years and truly represented compassion in all its form.

"Often, it is not just one outstanding act that defines a great caregiver, rather it is continued passion and dedication shown in the role every single day that elevates someone’s impact," Mr Edwards said.

"Sharon epitomises all that Murdoch stands for and we are very proud of her achievement."
