As the Manager of Engineering Services, Rob is looking forward to retirement and spending time with ‘the most beautiful woman in the world’, his wife.

Behind the scenes, Rob and his team work together to keep the hospital running day-to-day, while attending to any engineering issues that need to be looked at.

He is a much loved member of the SJG Mt Lawley team and his farewell speech leaves no doubt he intends to enjoy his retirement.

“I am looking forward to spending time doing the things I love, including photography and gardening.

“My wife and I plan to travel, first to Israel and Jordan, and then to Los Angeles to see our grandchildren.

“I can’t wait to spend the day lying on a rug in Kings Park, reading a good book and catching up with friends and family.”

Rob reflects on his time at the hospital and the chance it gave him to work with a great team.

“Our team is the best.  Everyone knows what needs to be done and gets on with it.  They are all dedicated to making sure the hospital lives up to its full potential.

“I will miss working with them every day, but it is time to stop, take a deep breath, and smell the roses,” says Rob.

Acting CEO, Vanessa Unwin, says Rob’s passion is an inspiration to all who work at the hospital.

“Rob has given us the benefit of looking at the way we operate through a different perspective.

“His team worked on Room 421 on the fourth floor to develop a ‘showcase’ room with brand new fittings, bathroom facilities and colour schemes.

“He has led upgrades the lighting, the redevelopment of the hydrotherapy pool and a multitude of daily things to be fixed.

“We wish him and his wife the very best for the future.”
