Senior doctors working at St John of God Midland Public and Private Hospitals have been invited to apply for adjunct appointments at the Curtin University Medical School and the University of Notre Dame’s School of Medicine.
Selected candidates will be involved in the teaching and education of undergraduate medical students.
They will also assist in the development of the undergraduate curriculum, particularly at Curtin University Medical School’s new Midland Campus which will open in late 2019.
St John of God Midland Public and Private Hospitals Director of Medical Services Dr Sayanta Jana said the unique initiative will provide new opportunities and invaluable professional experiences for senior doctors.
“The appointments will help senior doctors to further develop their interest and skills in medical education, formal teaching and medical research,” he said.
“It will also enable them to have a real impact on the learning experience of students studying medicine.
“In addition, the next generation of doctors will learn from our practicing doctors and gain greater insight into the health care sector and the medical needs of the Midland community.”
