The hospital has achieved significant milestones in its first two years of operations and experienced a significant demand on its services.

CEO Michael Hogan said he was extremely proud of our achievements over the past two years.

“Since opening we have undertaken 128,648 Emergency Department (ED) presentations, 199,777 outpatient appointments, 3,379 births and 27,224 procedures,” he said.

“In addition, the ED is seeing about 45 per cent more patients than were treated at the former Swan District Hospital’s ED.

“I extend my heartfelt thanks to our caregivers for their efforts each and every day to ensure we provide high quality care to patients and the best possible services and outcomes to the community.

“As well as celebrating our second birthday, today is also about recognising the efforts and achievements of our caregivers and their contribution to the hospital’s success.”

As part of the celebrations, wards and departments have selected a cause to support and undertaken fundraising activities on the day.

Mr Hogan said our caregivers enjoy contributing to the community and it is hoped the fundraising will become an annual event.
