 Nourish Parent Education

The social distancing restrictions in place during COVID-19 have seen the cancellation of antenatal classes and other educational sessions. Nourish is the online solution, home to all the accurate and reliable education patients will need, while keeping them and their baby safe. Beyond COVID-19, Nourish will allow the hospital to continue to provide convenient, consistent and credible antenatal and postpartum support to its patients.

About Nourish

Established in 2012, Nourish helps parents enjoy a healthy pregnancy, positive labour and birth and early parenting success. The online antenatal classes and early parenting courses are delivered by qualified antenatal and early parenting professionals.

Nourish is the only online antenatal class provider who is an Australian Council of Healthcare Services (ACHS) EQuIP6 accredited organisation, with resources also supporting a number of maternity services and early parenting programs - in hospitals, child and family health centres and early childhood education services. The childbirth education videos are also endorsed by Childbirth and Parenting Educators of Australia (CAPEA).

How patients access the Nourish learning hub

A personalised invitation to access Nourish will be emailed to each patient. They simply follow the instructions and link to access Nourish at their own convenience.

The courses each feature multiple modules, breaking down each topic into easily digestible chunks:

  • Course 1: Guide to a healthy pregnancy (16 modules)
  • Course 2: Guide to a positive labor and birth (17 modules)
  • Course 3: Guide to feeding success (11 modules)
  • Course 4: Guide to babies, birth- 12 months (14 modules)

Nourish is available to all maternity patients, including those booked into the lower cost Bundle model and those under private obstetric care.

Patients will have access to Nourish for 12 months beyond their baby’s birth date so that they can go back and access all the valuable info as they need it through the first year. The hospital looks forward to supporting  patients with this valuable resource.
