History of St John of God Frankston Rehabilitation Hospital
In March 2004 our hospital, which was known as St John of God Nepean Rehabilitation Hospital, became part of St John of God Health Care, one of Australia’s largest health care providers.
The hospital’s name was changed in 2012 to St John of God Frankston Rehabilitation Hospital to better reflect the community we served.
Refurbishment was undertaken at this time adding four beds to the hospital increasing total bed numbers to 69 and an upgrade to the main gym.
Starting in late 2016, the hospital will undergo a $9.7 million refurbishment increasing the number of single bed wards and upgrading all patient accommodation areas, in particular the ensuites.
In addition, the refurbishment will include a significant upgrade of the front entrance, chapel and reception areas. It is anticipated the project will take 12 months to complete.
