While being overjoyed to deliver a healthy baby, the team knew that she was the very last baby to be born at the Gibb Street hospital.
Dad Shane was also born at the historical hospital, creating a beautiful connection between father and daughter.
New mum Emma delivered baby Sadie prematurely last night, much earlier than planned.
Both mother and baby were transferred to the new hospital on Kangan Drive via ambulance this morning.
Baby Sadie is doing well and is comfortable resting in our new Special Care Nursery under the watchful eye of our Special Care Nursery team led by Tan Donnelly.
The team now eagerly await the birth of the first baby to be born at the new hospital.
