Regular dentist visits can do more than keep your smile attractive-they can also tell your dentist a lot about your health. Good oral health leads to a healthier and happier life.

We sat down with Dr Vijay to discuss Oral Health.

Poor oral health can lead to  health problems

If we do not brush and floss regularly to keep our teeth clean, Plaque can build up along the gumline leading to buildup of bacteria which causes infections in the gums and teeth. Poor oral health may increase your risk of serious health problems such as heart disease, Stroke, Poorly controlled diabetes and preterm labor.

What you can do to protect your Oral Health?

  • To enjoy a healthy smile that lasts a lifetime, practice good oral hygiene everyday.
  •  Brush your teeth twice a day for at least 2 minutes.
  • Floss daily to help remove plaque from places where your toothbrush can't reach.
  • Eat a healthy diet and limit snacking in between meals.
  • Change your sugary snacks to fruit.
  • Drink plenty water.
  • Replace your toothbrush every three to four months or sooner if bristles are frayed.
  • Visit the dentist for regular dental checkups and cleanings.

Preventive care:

Taking care of your oral health every day is an investment in your overall health not only for today but also for the future. Preventive Care by regular dental visits will prevent  most dental problems.
