Grahame joins the organisation after working as the Chief Information Officer for the Department of Health and Human Services in Tasmania, where he provided strategic leadership for planning, developing, implementing and managing all information and communication technologies within the department.

He has held positions in both the private and public sector, including several years as the Chief Information Officer for the Department of Health and Human Services, Victoria, as well as roles in community services, agriculture, food, manufacturing and retail industries.

St John of God Health Care Group Chief Executive Officer Dr Shane Kelly said Grahame’s experience in creating customer-centric models for IT and strong strategy, innovation and governance credentials is important to our organisation going forward.

“I am confident Grahame will do a great job in leading our digital and technology team, who deliver and support a wide range of large-scale projects as we increase our investment in information and technology, while also continuing to support our existing platforms and systems through a period of considerable change,” he said.

Grahame said he was looking forward to learning more about the organisation and working with his team on finding technology solutions to meet St John of God Health Care’s strategic direction.

“I was inspired by the Values of St John of God Health Care and the services being delivered to the community,” he said.

“Taking on this new role provides me the opportunity to learn about a new organisation and see how I can apply my experience to their desired goals and challenges.

“Working in healthcare also provides the additional satisfaction of knowing that what you are doing will make a positive difference to someone in what is usually a stressful time in their life.”

Grahame said it was an exciting time to be working in technology within the healthcare sector.

“Technology in healthcare remains a global focus with technology organisations investing large amounts of money in research and new products that will provide benefit for both health providers and consumers,” he said.

“It is exciting to be part of this evolution and being able to play a key role in how St John of God Health Care can take advantage of this.”

Grahame started in the position on 4 February 2019.
