Mr Knowles holds commercial directorships at Global Health Ltd, Drinkwise Australia Ltd, Silver Chain Group Ltd and IPG Ltd. He was a member of the Victorian Parliament from
1976-99 and had responsibility for a number of portfolios, including Minister for Health from 1996-99 and Minister for Aged Care from 1996-99.

Making the announcement SJGHC Chairman of Trustees, Eva Skira said that Mr Knowles had outstanding credentials within the health care sector.
“Rob has made an outstanding contribution as a leader in health care in Australia and his deep knowledge of the sector and strong commercial abilities will add to the bench
strength of the SJGHC Board.”

Chairman of the SJGHC Board, Tony Howarth applauded the appointment saying “SJGHC will benefit from Rob’s experience and expertise and I look forward to welcoming him to
our team.”

Mr Knowles is also currently Chair of the Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne; Commissioner of the National Mental Health Commission and Chair of the Victorian
Health Reform and Innovation Council.

He was awarded the Order of Australia in 2007 for service to the community through a range of aged care, mental health, research and cultural activities and his work in the
Victorian government.
