CEO Ian Anderson said that he and his project team already feel a strong sense of connection with those affected, given these communities are part of the catchment for the future hospitals.

“To support those in need of our help at this difficult time, St John of God Health Care has made a donation to the Lord Mayor’s Distress Relief Fund and we would urge other local businesses to do likewise.”

The fund will be used to help people who are suffering and who face such a big job in rebuilding or cleaning up after the fires.

Ian added: “We acknowledge the enormous efforts of all those who worked tirelessly over the last few days including emergency services, volunteers, community organisations and many others.”

St John of God Health Care has a tradition of assisting communities affected by disaster. It’s an important part of our mission and our heritage to help people experiencing misfortune or tragedy overseas and just as importantly, at home, in the local communities where we live and work.
