Sandy Tucker, well-known for her positivity and helpfulness, has been welcoming patients and visitors on arrival at St John of God Mt Lawley Hospital for the last ten years.

This week she was awarded the July Caregiver Living Values Award.

Sandy was nominated by Pathology courier Karen Testar for being a shining example of the hospital’s values particularly Hospitality.

“Sandy is always happy and friendly and goes above and beyond to help others,” says Karen.

The nomination had the full support of Admissions Team Leader Paula Collins who says Sandy is the poster child of Hospitality.

“Sandy’s warmth and compassion is felt by every patient, visitor and caregiver greeted by her as they enter the hospital. Her enthusiasm and positive attitude for every task she completes and conversation she has makes her the perfect candidate for the Caregiver Living Values Award. She treats every query and question with kindness and her ‘can-do’ attitude makes her a pleasure to work with every day,” says Paula.

On receiving the award Sandy said the best thing about her role is the people she meets and works with.

“I love being able to put a smile on someone’s face,” said Sandy.

Congratulations Sandy! A well-deserved winner.
